Scott Mescudi, better known by his stage name KiD CuDi, is a Cleveland rapper who started to gain attention through the release of his first single, "Day 'n' Nite". Cudi released his first mixtape, A KiD Named CuDi, in collaboration with New York streetwear brand 10.Deep Clothing as a free download on July 17. The mixtape features a guest appearance from DC rapper Wale and caught the attention of Kanye West. In early September 2008, he performed at the 2008 VMAs along side Travis Barker and DJ AM. Kid Cudi is featured on Kanye West's latest album, 808s & Heartbreak, singing with him on the track named "Welcome to Heartbreak". Recently signed to G.O.O.D Music, he is finishing up his album for a spring 2009 release. That's a lot to make happen in a 6 month time frame but obviously a product of years of hard work and dedication to the art.
